LASA Scientific Posters from the LASA annual meeting 2019

A total of 23 scientific posters were available to view and discuss with authors during the LASA annual meeting 2019. The LASA annual meeting scientific poster prize 2019 was awarded by Envigo for the best poster which aligns science and technology with the 3Rs, inspiring scientists to readily adopt new approaches. The Envigo award included registration fees and expenses (of up to £500) to attend a second scientific meeting with the prize poster to disseminate this information and foster innovative thinking to a wider audience. The unanimous overall winning poster was awarded to Alison Ritchie, from University of Nottingham for her poster entitled “Food For Thought – the development of drug loaded diets to improve both science and welfare”. The judging panel thought that the ability to deliver drugs via the diet offered significant refinements to existing methods of delivery and that this had the potential for much wider use within the animal research community.

Posters are a key component of communicating science and an important element in a successful scientific career. Unlike the specialist publication, a poster can reach out to a much wider audience. LASA has set up a repository of a selection of the scientific posters submitted to the 2019 annual meeting, which the authors have kindly agreed to share and are available for download.
