We are excited to announce an upcoming meeting tailored for Establishment Licence Holders within scientific organizations who must remain compliant with the Act and will provide valuable insights into navigating the complexities of animal research while maintaining ethical standards and legal compliance. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other professionals in the field and exchange ideas on best practices for ensuring animal welfare while conducting biomedical research. This meeting will cover a range of important topics, including updates from the Animals in Science Regulation Unit (ASRU) and their engagement with Establishment Licence Holders. The event will also explore protest activity in the UK and the role of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPoCC) in coordinating protest activity. Dealing with non-compliance internally will also be discussed, with a focus on sharing experiences and learning from one another.

The meeting will also feature a series of short presentations from Establishment Licence Holders on their audit experiences. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in group discussion work, sharing their experiences and exploring common challenges and possible solutions related to providing evidence, data management, quality assurance, and ensuring the effectiveness of Named Persons. Feedback from group discussions will be gathered and discussed, including exploring what the future holds for Establishment Licence Holders. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their thoughts and provide feedback on what they want from the PELH Committee.
