For all LASA Members – Are you interested in applying to be a council member to help further LASA’s aims?

The term of office of several members of LASA Council comes to an end in December 2023. Therefore, three new Ordinary Council positions will be subject to election by LASA membership at this Autumn’s AGM.

Council membership provides a great opportunity to help shape the future of laboratory animal science in the UK and elsewhere. Therefore, we actively encourage all LASA members to consider whether they might fulfil the eligibility criteria for the positions listed below and submit their names for election to Council.

As part of the application, we invite candidates to submit a short CV (no more than one page) and a personal statement of up to 250 words that details what you believe you will bring to LASA Council.

The closing date for receipt of CVs/personal statements is Friday 13 October 2023.

We are especially looking for candidates in the areas outlined below, but all applications are welcome.

Position 1: LASA Council member with a specific interest in good practice within Europe (there may be a future opportunity to represent LASA at the FELASA level)

Position 2: An early-career candidate

(We are defining ‘early-career’ as within five years of obtaining a professional qualification in a field related to laboratory animal science, technology, or welfare or in training/ education to attain such qualifications or a PhD student/ post-doc whose research has an in-vivo component.)

Position 3A general interest in animal research for example animal science, welfare, ethics, culture of care
