LASA PELh Spring Forum (Non Members)

10th May 2021

Online virtual meeting 14:00 – 17:00h GMT

Implementing the 3Rs requires that, in every research proposal, animals are replaced with non-animal alternatives wherever possible. Standard Condition 1 for Establishment licences states:The licence holder shall ensure that the regulated activities carried on at the establishment are carried on in a manner that is consistent with the principles of replacement, reduction and refinement”. How are you ensuring that replacement models are utilised fully at your Establishment? What are the benefits and limitations of replacement models which are currently available and how can you encourage their integration in future research projects? Come and learn more with our expert line-up of speakers and join in the discussion work with fellow PELhs.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a prerequisite for many professional medical and scientific disciplines but less common for those involved in laboratory animal work.

Revision of Directive 86/609EEC requires that persons “are adequately educated, competent and continuously trained” (Article 23A). The scheme is available FREE to LASA members. Please contact the Secretariat for more information.
