Past Meetings
EU Directive 2010/63
A meeting was held on 9 February, 2011. Presentations included "High Throughput Phenotyping of Genetically Modified Mice: Clarification for animal numbers and their reporting and balancing the 3Rs with the goal of understanding gene function" along with an update and political overview of the implementation of the Directive. This was followed by a workshop at which participants raised and discussed concerns relating to key aspects of the Directive.
Freedom of Information and ASPA
On 30 September, 2010 the Home Office Liaison Officers' Forum, in conjunction with Understanding Animal Research, hosted a one day meeting, primarily for academic Home Office liaison officers and Freedom of Information officers. The meeting was well attended and participants benefited from four very different informative presentations and the opportunity to discuss issues relating to FoI, ASPA and openness.
Inaugural Meeting
The inaugural meeting was held on 17 February, 2010. The meeting was extremely well supported with over 40 attendees present along with representatives from the Home Office, LASA Council and the CHF. Topics discussed included; consistency of Inspectorate advice, future plans for electronic licence administration and an overview of the new PPL format. The group also canvassed ideas for future HOLF activities.
The HOLF was formally constituted as a specialist section of LASA in April, 2010.
