UFAW is an internationally recognised scientific and educational charity which
accepts that animals are used for food, for experiments and many other purposes

research into matters arising from symposia and workshops, and the preparation
of publications and guidelines. The results enable UFAW to give advice and
to make recommendations concerning animal welfare based on sound scientific
evidence. The Federation looks at the welfare of all types of animals : farm
animals, laboratory animals, companion animals and zoo animals.

ICLAS collaborates with WHO, scientific unions and different laboratory animal
organisations throughout the world to promote the objectives of high quality
animals, and education and training in the field of laboratory animal science.
One activity in the past few years has been to prepare with WHO, Guidelines
on Establishment and Use of Laboratory Animals in Developing Countries. ICLAS
news provides a source of information on world-wide laboratory animal activities.
ICLAS has run a number of workshops aimed at increasing awareness of issues
and promoting the introduction of training courses. To help with this aim,
they are compiling a multilingual database of those willing to present topics.
FELASA - The Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations

AFSTAL - Association
Française
des Sciences et Techniques de l'Animal de Laboratoire
AISAL -
Associazione Italiana per Scienze degli Animali da Laboratorio
Balt-LASA - Baltic Laboratory Animal Science Association
